Uma luz entre todas aquelas luzes chamou-me a aten\u00e7\u00e3o. Algu\u00e9m olhava para mim\u2014uma menina jovem, t\u00e3o entusiasmada por me ver, que me derreteu o cora\u00e7\u00e3o. Era alegria pura, e s\u00f3 queria dar-lhe um grande abra\u00e7o e desejar-lhe tamb\u00e9m um espet\u00e1culo maravilhoso.<\/p>\n

A great assembly of children was preparing to showcase all they had learned during the year in a fantastic gymnastic performance. I went backstage looking for my two children, but instead, I saw her. I can't remember her name, but she had attended one of my Music Together classes and loved it. Her mother did too, but the timing wasn't right, so they didn't enroll.<\/p>\n

I can't brag too much, though\u2014or fool myself. That eruption of happiness wasn't really for me. When she saw me, she saw all the opportunities and possibilities to make music, all the fun she'd had exploring a whole new world she could create just with her voice and hands.<\/p>\n

Coming to my class had sparked her love of making music, and I can only hope she'll be able to keep it alive, in one way or another. Of course, I believe Music Together is the best program, but if she signs up for something else, so be it. Or if she plays at home with her family, or keeps singing by herself until the day comes when a new door opens.<\/p>\n

Descobrir a m\u00fasica de outras culturas \u00e9 uma forma de conhecer o outro, de conectar, de crescer em empatia e riqueza cultural.<\/p>\n

It's not just her, of course. Just this week, my youngest got frustrated\u2014angry, really\u2014at his dad. He got a \"no\" for an answer when he absolutely precisava<\/em> absolutamente de um \"sim\"! Preparei-me para um grande drama dom\u00e9stico, mas em vez disso ele saiu da sala furioso e foi para o piano. Come\u00e7ou a tocar, primeiro a martelar as teclas, depois gradualmente a derreter-se nele e a tocar mais como ele pr\u00f3prio. Fiquei comovida. Como m\u00e3e, s\u00f3 posso esperar que a m\u00fasica continue a ser uma forma t\u00e3o poderosa para ele processar os seus sentimentos e encontrar paz.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, a mom from class sent me a video of her toddler. Her son was saying he wanted to come to my classes every day\u2014not preschool, but to make music with me. Now it's my turn to get overwhelmed with emotions. I'm in the car, so I start singing. He can't hear it, but I'm singing to him, wishing him to continue making music every single day\u2014when he's happy, frustrated, or like me, overcome with gratitude.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

A m\u00fasica \u00e9 um instrumento mais poderoso do que qualquer outro para a educa\u00e7\u00e3o, porque o ritmo e a harmonia encontram o seu caminho para os lugares mais \u00edntimos da alma.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>
